We creatively lower costs to make green building affordable. Using the philosophy of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – we offer opportunities for savings throughout the construction/design process.
 
Our goal with every project is to offer clients the opportunity to integrate green design, materials and building techniques. Both in our company office and on projects we strive to decrease our effect on the environment through project management that includes reduction of waste, reuse of materials, recycling, and maximizing the use of materials that are energy efficient, easily recyclable, non-toxic, and/or biodegradable.
 
Green building is now affordable and can cost the same as a "conventional" project, no matter whether your project is high end or low-cost. Using pre-planning and other money saving techniques, we can offer you environmental options for just about everything from insulation to counter-tops. Vendors now carry enough options in the Bay Area to make this possible and cost effective.


MATERIAL CHOICE
As a green building company, we will prioritize our purchasing from locally owned businesses and manufacturers, and if a product isn't available locally, we will try to limit the distance a product travels to within 500 miles. Of course, if you want bamboo, we'll get you bamboo. But we will make certain it comes from the right cut of bamboo for strength and that it is from a sustainable source. And good news, since most of these products are available at local retail outlets, green building is no longer more expensive than conventional.
 
GREENWASHING
People are concerned about greenwashing, as are we, and thus we strive to make sure all the products we use have a chain of custody that is reliable and that the suppliers are indeed sustainable. For instance, we will only use FSC certified wood, independently verified - not SRI - which is the industries own certification program.
 
Also, vinyl, no matter what form it takes, is never green, so you'll have to beg us to use it in your project.
 
*Not all products are available "green" locally - thus we will make the a decision as to what is the best choice for the project based on clients wishes and budget.
